Definition of the word ‘oppressed’ in Hadith

What is the definition of an ‘oppressed person’ [in Hadith] and can you give the Arabic word and transliteration please?

Answer

Oppression, when discussed In Hadith refers to something taken unjustly. Therefore the ‘oppressed person’ refers to a person whose rights are disregarded and trampled upon, be it monetary or with regard to his life/family etc.

(See: Fathul Bari, before Hadith: 2440 and Faydul Qadir, Hadith: 112)

The Arabic word is مظلوم, mazlum.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
