Honey is a cure

Could you mention a Hadith which speaks about the benefit of honey?

Answer

In Surah Nahl, Allah Ta’ala mentions in Surah Nahl (The bee): “A drink [honey] of varying colours emerges from its belly, in which lies a cure for man”

(Surah Nahl, Verse: 69. Refer: Zadul Ma’ad, vol. 4 pg. 34 and Fathul Bari, before Hadith: 5682)

Hadiths on this topic:

1) Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abbas (radiyallahu ‘anhuma) reports that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “There is cure/healing in three things; a sip of honey, cupping and cauterisation, but I forbid my ummah to cauterise.”

(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 5680-5681)

2) Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) instructed a Sahabi (radiyallahu ‘anhu) whose brother was suffering from a stomach/intestinal ailment to give him honey. After repeating this treatment three or four times, he was cured.

(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 5684, 5716 and Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 2217)
