Actions are judged/rewarded according to their intentions

What is the authenticity of this narration?

Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“Verily actions are but by their intentions, and a person will only be [awarded according] to his intention. So whosoever emigrated for Allah and His Rasul, his hijrah will be for Allah and His Rasul. And whosoever emigrated to attain something of this world, or to marry a woman, his hijrah will be for what he emigrated for”.

Answer

Imam Bukhari and Imam Muslim (rahimahumallah) have recorded this Hadith. The Hadith is therefore authentic.

(Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 54, 2529 and Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 1907)
