The du’a after drinking milk

Is there any reference for the du’a after drinking milk?

Allahumma barik lana wa zidna minhu

Answer

Yes. Imams Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud (rahimahumallah) have recorded this du’a. Imam Tirmidhi (rahimahullah) has declared the Hadith sound (hasan).

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said: “…Whomsoever Allah gives milk to drink should say ‘Allahumma barik lana wa zidna minhu’” [O Allah, bless us in it and grant us more]

(Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 3455 and Sunan Abi Dawud, Hadith: 3723)

The Arabic text of the du’a

ُاللهُمَّ بارِكْ لَنا فِيهِ وَزِدْنا مِنْه

See the first part of the Hadith here.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
