أي المؤمنين أكيس؟ قال: أكثرهم للموت ذكرا وأحسنهم له استعدادا قبل أن ينزل بهم أولئك من الأكياس
Answer
Imam Hakim (rahimahullah) and other Muhaddithun have recorded this Hadith, as part of a longer narration. Imam Hakim (rahimahullah) has declared the Hadith authentic and ‘Allamah Dhahabi concurs.
(Mustadrak Hakim, vol. 4 pg. 540)
Imam Ibn Majah (rahimahullah) has recorded the Hadith with slight variation in the wording.
(Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith: 4259)
Translation
Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) was asked, “Which of the Believers are the most intelligent? ” He replied, ‘Those who remember death the most frequently and those who prepare for death in the best manner, before they pass away. These are from the intelligent ones.’”
And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
