Recitals at the sight of the Ramadan moon

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by HadithAnswers.com

Is there any substantiation for the following:

When you sight the moon of Ramadan, recite Surah Qadr twenty one times. You will have barakah in your rizq.

Also recite Surah Mulk. Its thirty verses will protect you from calamities for the entire month (thirty days lunar).

Answer

I haven’t seen this in the Hadith sources at my disposal.

However, your question does not state that these recitals are from the Hadith either.

It is possible that this is actually derived from someone’s experience and not the Hadith of Rasulullah (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam)
