Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) seeing to the need of a mentally ill woman

Could you please mention the Hadith regarding a mentally ill women who asked Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) to fulfill a need of hers. Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) followed her and fulfilled her need?

Answer

Imam Muslim (rahimahullah) has recorded this narration on the authority of Sayyiduna Anas ibn Malik (radiyallahu ‘anhu). The narration is as follows:

A mentally ill woman once said to Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam), ‘I want you to carry out a task for me’. Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) asked her to come to whichever side of the road so that he may take care of her need. He then proceeded with her and carried out her task.

(Sahih Muslim, Hadith: 2326)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
