Loving solely for the sake of Allah Ta’ala is part of Iman

Can you provide the reference for this narration:

إن من الإيمان أن يحب الرجل الرجل ليس بينهما نسب قريب ولا مال أعطاه إياه ولا محبة إلا لله عز وجل

Answer

Imam Abu Bakr Ibn Abid Dunya (rahimahullah) has recorded this as the statement of Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ud (radiyallahu ‘anhu) and not as a Hadith of Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam)

(Kitabul Ikhwan, Hadith: 15)

Translation

It is part of Iman for a man to love another person, solely for the sake of Allah ‘Azza Wa Jalla and not for any other motive.
