Husband saying “I don’t want you anymore”

Q: If a husband out of anger says he does not want you anymore, does this mean talaaq. If it is, what should be done?

A: Through him uttering this statement no talaaq takes place.

And Allah Ta’ala knows best.

إذا قال لا أريدك أو لا أحبك أو لا أشتهيك أو لا رغبة لي فيك فإنه لا يقع وإن نوى في قول أبي حنيفة رحمه الله تعالى كذا في البحر الرائق (الفتاوى الهندية 1/ 375)
