I have heard the following statement attributed to a Saint of the past. Could you tell me who was he?
“Two things harden the heart; speaking too much and eating too much”

Imam Bayhaqi (rahimahullah) has recorded this statement on the authority of the famous Saint, Bishr ibn Al Harith Al Hafi who says, Fudayl ibn ‘Iyad (rahimahullah) said, “Two things harden the heart; speaking too much and eating too much”.
(Shu’abul Iman, Hadith: 5315)
Imam Abu Nu’aym (rahimahullah) has recorded this as the words of Bishr Al Hafi (rahimahullah).
