The virtue of removing harmful objects from the path

Is this narration reliable?

Sayyiduna Mu’adh ibn Jabal (radiyallahu ‘anhu) was once walking with someone when he removed a stone from the path. The man asked Sayyiduna Mu’adh, ‘Why did you do so?’

He replied, ‘I heard Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) say, ‘Whoever removes a stone [or harmful object] from the path, one good deed is recorded for him. And whoever has an [accepted] good deed will enter Jannah”

Answer

Imam Tabarani and Imam Bayhaqi (rahimahumallah) have recorded this narration.

(Al Mu’jamul Kabir, Hadith: 198, vol. 20 and Shu’abul Iman, Hadith: 10660)

‘Allamah Mundhiri and Hafiz Haythami (rahimahumallah) have declared the narrators of Tabarani reliable.

(Targhib, vol. 3 pg. 619 and Majma’uz Zawaid, vol. 3 pg. 135)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
