The Masjids shine like stars

Please provide the full narration which states that the Masajid shine to the inhabitants of the sky like stars.

Answer

Imam Tabarani and Imam Bayhaqi (rahimahumallah) have recorded this narration as the statement of Sayyiduna ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abbas (radiyallahu ‘anhuma).

The full narration is as follows:

“The Masjids are the houses of Allah in the earth, which shine to the inhabitants of the sky just as the stars shine upon the inhabitants of the earth”

(Al Mu’jamul Kabir, Hadith: 10608 and Shu’abul Iman, Hadith: 2687)

Hafiz Haythami (rahimahullah) has declared the narrators of Tabarani as reliable.

(Majma’uz Zawaid, vol. 2 pg. 7)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
