Salutations (durud), a source of light on the bridge (sirat)

What is the authenticity of the following Hadith?

Salawat [Sending salutations] on me is light on the Sirat. Whoever recites Salawat on me eighty times on the day of Jumu’ah [at any time], Allah will forgive him eighty years of sins.”

Answer

Imams: Ibn Shahin, Ibn Bashkuwal (rahimahumallah) and others have recorded this narration in their respective works on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ‘anhu).

(Refer: Al Qawlul Badi’, pg. 398)

‘Allamah Sakhawi (rahimahullah) has declared the chain of narrators as weak.

(Al Qawlul Badi’ pg. 399. Also see Faydul Qadir, under Hadith: 5191)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
