The effect of sincerity

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by HadithAnswers.com

Is it true that the Nabi (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam) said to Sayyiduna Mu’adh (ibn jabal): “be sincere in your faith and even a few good deeds will suffice you” ?

Answer

This is recorded by Imams Hakim, Ibn Abid Dunya, Abu Nu’aym and Daylami (rahimahumullah) in their respective works, with weak chains.

(Mustadrak, vol.4 pg.304, Daylami, hadith: 1776. Also see: Targhib, vol.1 pg.54, Sharhul ihya, vol.10 pg.45 & Al-Mudawi, hadith: 161)

Despite the weak chains (which also do corroborate each other), this subject matter has sufficient support from other authentic texts, and is therefore suitable to quote.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best,
