Is there any authentic dhikr for after the Jumu’ah salah? Or are they the same as the dhikrs after the general fard prayers?
Answer:
In addition to the normal recitals for after every fard salah, one should add the following:
Sayyidatuna ‘Aishah (radiyallahu’anha) reports that Rasulullah (sallallahu’alayhi wasallam) said:
‘Whoever recites the following surahs 7 times, before talking to anyone after the Jumu’ah salah, will be protected till the following Jumu’ah:
Surah Ihklas,
Surah Falaq
Surah Nas
(‘Amalul yawmi wal laylah of Ibnus Sunni, Hadith: 375)
This is suitable for practice and is well supported by similar reports from other Sahabah and Tabi’un (radiyallahu’anhum)
Among them are:
Sayyidatuna Asma (radiyallahu’anha)
(Musannaf ibn Abi Shaybah, Hadith: 5621 & 30218, Shu’abul Iman of Imam Bayhaqi, Hadith: 2342, Fadailul Quran of Abu ‘Ubayd, pg. 146 & Fadailul Quran of Ibnud Durays, Hadith: 290)
Imam Zuhri (rahimahullah)
(Shu’abul Iman, after Hadith: 2342 & Fadailul Quran of Abu ‘Ubayd, pg. 146)
And Imam Makhul (rahimahullah)
(Sunan Sa’id ibn Mansur; Al-Futuhatur Rabbaniyyah, vol.4 pg.232-233)
Also see: Al-Adhkar of Imam Nawawi, Hadith: 520 & Al-Futuhatur Rabbaniyyah, vol.4 pg.232-233.
Note 1: Some versions add Surah Fatihah at the beginning.
Note 2: ‘Protection’ in this Hadith refers to protection of one’s wealth, family as well as one’s worldly and religious affairs.
Note 3: In an era of uncertainty like our’s, this recital is very pertinent, and should not be ignored…
