Four people who will not enter Jannah (early)

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by HadithAnswers.com

Kindly assist with the reference for the following Hadith:

‘There are four kinds of people about whom Allah has decided not to admit to paradise and not let them taste its bliss: the one who is addicted to wine, the one who takes the Riba, the one who exploits the property of an orphan and the man who is disobedient to his parents.’

JazakAllah khairan.

Answer

This Hadith is recorded by Imam Hakim (rahimahullah) in his Mustadrak (vol.2 pg.37, also see Targhib, vol.3 pg.254/328 )

Each of these are proven major sins and should be totally avoided.

Note: Hadiths like this one, which forbid entry into Jannah for certain Muslims, mean that such a person will not be admitted to Jannah with the early ones. He will have to spend a portion of time in Jahannam first, and then gain his entry to Jannah. Unless Allah Ta’ala forgives him without entry to Jahannam, in which case, his entry to Jannah will still be delayed.

(Sharh Nawawi ‘ala Sahih Muslim)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best,
