Halal chicken

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Fatwaa.com

Assalamualaikum ….my uncle and his childrens were following bareilvi school of thoughts but they don’t ask help from gairullah so when they are inviting us for some functions they are serving us chicken they are bringing chicken from market and in shopkeepers are doing Zibbah and shopkeepers are also from bareilvi school but i don’t know their thoughts about so is it halal for me to eat that chicken? please clarify

Wa’alayakum as Salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,

If your uncle, cousins and Barelwis in his area do not ask from others besides Allah, do not prostrate to graves, and do not have any other Kufr beliefs, then it will be permissible to consume the meat which they serve to you.

If you are unaware of their beliefs, it is best to maintain caution. However, if you are certain that your uncle and cousins do not have Kufr beliefs, you may give the benefit of the doubt to those who supply them the meat.

And Allaah Ta’aala knows best
