Intercourse before rukhsati

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Fatwa.org.au
I recently had my nikaah done, but not the rukhsati. My husband wanted to have intercourse. Is it permissible?

Answer:

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Once a couple do nikaah, they become husband and wife in the Shariah. Therefore, if you and your husband have done nikaah, you are husband and wife according to the Shariah and, hence, having sexual relationship will be permissible.

And Allah knows best.
