Question:
Dear Mufti Sahib
I want to know that it is established from the Hadith that pictures and drawings are haram even a hadith state that angels do not enter the house with pictures and drawings.
1. Since, I am a student I have many books, guides, notebooks etc with drawing and pictures and some even have pictures on their cover. Dear mufti sahib, I used to offer some of my individual salaah like Sunnah salaah of Fajr in the same room where the above mentioned books are placed. I pray my salaah on the principle that deeds depends upon intentions and nothing is hidden from Allah and aims that Allah will accept my salaah. I want to know is my salaah valid in the same room?
2. Since Biology is compulsory subject for my class. And in bio we have to draw different diagrams some time with all body details, with private parts, with some internal organs, stages of pregnancy, sometimes of some natural human behaviour etc
Is Shari’ah allow the students to draw such diagrams?
Answer:
As Salaamu Alaikum,
1) Salaah will be valid in the same room.
2) On account of the need to study these books which are written on the different subjects, and also, the need that exists to draw such diagram, the scholars have allowed these to the extent to necessity.
