Incomplete sajdah due to neck pain.

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by DarulUloomTT.net

Q. I am suffering from chronic pain in my neck, the aggravating factor of which is bowing or flexion of my neck beyond a certain degree. Because of this I am unable to perform my sajdah in salaat and so I bend only a little bit during sajdah and my forehead never touches the ground. If i do that pain starts in my neck. I have been praying with incomplete sajahs for the past 1 year because of my neck problem. I wanted to know if my salaat is valid? Am I doing something wrong? Doctors could not cure me.

A. In your situation, (once it is unbearable pain), you will be required to bend/ bow to the maximum extent that is possible, without experiencing the unbearable pain. When you do this, your Salaah will be valid even if you were not able to perform a complete and perfect Sajda. Due to your state, this amount will be sufficient for your Sajdah, and it will not be wrongdoing on your part.

And Allah knows best.
