Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by DarulIftaBirmingham

Question:

I have been praying since I was a child, but I have only realised now that shaving the front private part is not enough but have to shave the back part also. My question is that will my the previous salah be accepted or will I have to repeat previous years salah.

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Ten are the acts according to Fitrah (one’s natural disposition): clipping the moustache, letting the beard grow, using the miswak, snuffing water in the nose, cutting the nails, washing the finger joints, plucking the hair under the armpits, shaving the pubes and cleaning one’s private parts with water. The narrator said: I have forgotten the tenth, but it may have been rinsing the mouth. [Sahih Muslim, Hadith 261] [1]

A time limit has been prescribed for us for clipping the moustache, cutting the nails, plucking the hair under the armpits, shaving the pubes, and it should not be neglected for more than forty nights. [Sahih Muslim, Hadith 258] [2]

From these narrations, we understand the importance of keeping oneself clean and tidy. If one surpasses 40 nights without cutting/trimming the necessary areas then it becomes Waajib to do so. One will remain in a state of perpetual sin until it is done. However, this alone will not nullify any good actions which have been carried out as long as the aforementioned areas have all been kept clean.

Only Allah knows best.
