Droppings of Halal Birds

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by DarulIftaBirmingham

If you have any kind of birds (for example, parakeets) are their droppings najaza?

In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful.

Parakeet is a bird from the family of parrotts. It eats seeds, grains, wheats etc… Besides fowls, ducks and wild ducks the droppings of all halaal birds (including Parakeets) are not regarded as impurities. (Ahsanul Fatawa p.84 v.2)

Therefore, it is not necessary to remove the droppings of a Parakeet if it falls on someone’s clothes or body.
