Can a person pray salah wearing a shawl?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by DarulIftaBirmingham

Can a person pray salah wearing a shawl?

In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful.

Answer

It is permissible to pray salah with a shawl (chadar). However, you should wrap the shawl in such a way that your arms are not tucked into the shawl and makes it difficult for you to raise them for takbeer and placing them on your kneecaps for ruku etc…Otherwise it will be considered disliked.
