Asthma and fasting
In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful.
Using an asthma pump and inhaling its gas will break ones fast. (Maraqi Falah p.660)
Those who need to use asthma pump and find it difficult to fast have permission from the Shariah not to fast. One should keep them at another time during the year, maybe when the days become shorter.
If this is not possible, then you are considered incapable of fasting and thus it will be permissible for you to forgo your fasts and pay fidyah instead. (Maraqi Falah p.453)
It must be remembered that if you become capable of fasting again, all the missed fasts will have to be made up even if you have paid fidyah for them. (Fatawa Hindiyyah p.207 v.1)
