Pus Coming Out of the Wound

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by DarulIftaBirmingham

Question:

If a person has a wound on the lower stomach area, whenever something eg clothes/tissue touches it, pus discharges, can that person put a plaster over the wound and carry on as usual with wudhu/salaah? (unless the pus is visible on plaster or oozes out of plaster)

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

Pus due to a wound on the body that does not overflow out of the wound by itself does not break wudu.[1] Yes, the person may simply cover it with a bandage or plaster and carry on as usual with wudhu and salah. If the pus comes out beyond the plaster/bandage by itself (i.e. without pressing on it etc.) then they simply have to renew their wudu.
