Question:

What is the ruling for the one who says Subhana Rabiyal A’la forgetfully in Rukoo, will he make Sajdah Sahwa?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

There are many different postures in Salah and different rulings apply to the different postures of Salah. If a Fardh is left out, then immediately Salah is invalid. If a Wajib is left out, then the only way to rectify that mistake is to do Sajdah Sahw. However, if a Sunnah is left out, then it does not invalidate Salah.

In this case, he does not have to do the prostration of forgetfulness, because he did not omit something that is obligatory; rather it is a Sunnah and the same ruling would also apply if a person read the Tasbeeh of Sajdah in Ruku.

In the aforementioned case, the Salah will be valid and there is no need for a Sajdah Sahw.

Only Allah knows best.
