If the Husband Said Talaq Talaq Talaq to His Wife

Question

My husband said to me talaq talaq talaq. I want to ask you if only the word talaq is said, is talaq done? He didn’t say to me I give you talaq, he only said talaq.

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Answer:

In principle, the occurrence of sareeh (clear) words of talaq is dependent on the prevailing situation. If a man uses words of divorce, they will come into effect if they were fighting, or if he addressed his wife when he uttered them, or if he indicated to her.
