Question
On the day of Nikah, when the عقد takes place in the masjid, is it sunnah for the bride to remain at home?

Answer:
There is nothing to say the bride is to be at home. She can be at home or attend the Masjid. If she is staying at home, the wali can accept on her behalf in her absence with her permission (Al-Hidayah, Volume 2, Page 596. Imran Nyazee Edition)
