Bride going to the Musjid for nikaah

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I want to ask you what is the procedure of Nikaah in the Masjid. I mean groom and bride should be available in Masjid or only groom? What does Shari’ah say about Nikaah in the Musjid?

Bismillaah

A: If the nikaah is performed in the Musjid, then the nikaah will be performed in the presence of the groom, the representative of the bride and the witnesses. The bride should not be present in the Musjid, rather she should remain at home.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
