Question

My sister did some cosmetic treatment to get rid of marks and scars on her face but due to it, she could not wash her face for a few hours so she did tayammum for one salah. For the rest, she made wudhu I believe. Was this okay?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer

If, due to some illness, water is harmful and wudhu will increase the illness or delay its healing tayammum will be permissible. (Bahishti Zewar p.84 )

Coming to your question, the permissibility or impermissibility depends on the illness and whether the advice she received to avoid water was a guideline or whether the use of water would impact the healing process.

If it was important to avoid water, then she should act upon the professional advice and avoid water and perform tayammum.
