If you own a house and are renting it out, should zakat be paid for the house?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

For property that you have bought to rent out, the Zakah will need to be paid on the rental income, so long as your total net amount of rental income is above the nisaab. Zakaat is not due on the house value unless you have bought it for trading in it. [1]
