Can a Lady in Ihram Cover Her Face?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by DarulIftaBirmingham

Question

I was told that if a lady in Ihrām covers her face for 11 hours then she takes it off and puts it on again, she will not take into consideration the 11 hours she wore it previously, even though she wears it for 5 hours after that.

Answer:

It is not permissible for both men and women to cover their faces while in the state of Ihraam in such a manner in which the cloth touches the face.

For both times that the lady covered her face, she would have to give sadaqah equivalent to sadaqatul fitr. Once for the first time, she covered her face for 11 hours, and a second time for the time she covered her face for 5 hours.[1]
