I am about to move into a new house, Inshallah. My friends suggested to first put a Qur’an in there and call Azan. Should I do this?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

Also please make Du’aa that Allah make this house to be a source of peace, security, and tranquillity for me and my family.

Answer

There is no need to place the Qur’aan and call out the Adhaan, etc.

Yes, you may recite the verses of the Qur’aan like Surah Yaaseen, etc. as a
form of Tabarruk (Barakah or blessings) before you actually move into the
house. May Allah Ta’ala protect all of you in this new home and grant all of
you aafiyah and joy.
