Question

Assalamualaikum

Is it necessary to wash the blankets and bedsheets which I used during my period? It doesn’t have any blood or leakage on it but it does have little smell which we have during periods. Is it necessary to wash that?

Answer:

As long as you are sure that there is no blood on your bedsheets, then it is not necessary for you to wash them.

If the blood reaches the amount of a dirham (50p) on your clothes, then it would prevent your worship from being accepted. Otherwise, the smell of the blood does not affect your ibadah.[1]
