Question

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi barakatuhu.

If a sajdah ayah is read in English or its translation is read, is it necessary to do sajdah?

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيْم

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

It is waajib upon both the reader and listener of the ayah of sajdah to make the sajdah of tilaawah. You will be required to perform the sajdah of tilaawah, whether it was read in Arabic or English.[1]
