In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer

The majority of Fuqaha (Islamic Jurists) has said that “Performing ablution before the shower from major impurity is sunnah.” [See: Masaailul Jamhur, vol:1, The Book of Taharah, Masalah:88, publisher: Darus-salaam] Allama Yousuf Ludhianawi said: “performing ablution before the shower is sunnah (model behaviour of the prophet), however, the shower is valid without prior ablution.” [See: AapKe Masail Aur Un Ka Hal: question:168, vol:1, publisher: Bangladesh Islamic Centre Dhaka]
