Question

Is it allowed to perform a nasheed in the masjid in the jalsah for the children madrassa?

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيْم

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer

Poetry in Islam is virtuous in the case that it contains the praise of Allah, the teaching of His messenger, and Islamic content. As for having poetry read in the mosque, there is no harm in it as long as it is virtuous. In the authentic hadith, it is mentioned that Hassan bin Thabit (r.a) would recite poetry in the mosque in the time of the Prophet (S.A.W).
