Can I pay stamp duty from bank interest money if I already paid it from halal money?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
I own the house for which I paid stamp duty from my halal money when my father was alive but in the registration agreement we added our brother’s name as well. My father has passed away now and we divided all the assets according to Shariah. My question is now if I have to remove my brother’s name from the agreement then government is asking for stamp duty again. So can I pay the stamp duty from the bank interest money as I have already paid the stamp duty once from my halal money?

Answer

(Fatwa: 202/166/H=1434)

It is not lawful to pay stamp duty with interest money derived from bank. It is similar to spend interest on oneself, which is obviously incorrect.
