Can I add Haji Imdadullah’s name to “Muhammad” for my newborn son?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
As Salaamu Alaikum. My wife is expecting. She would be delivering in a few days. I have heard that if a person makes niyat that he would name the newborn as Muhammad, then he would be gifted with a son. I had decided in my mind that Insha Allah I would name my first born “Muhammad Imdadullah”, with due to respect to the prophet SAS and love for the saint Haji Imdadullah Makki (RAH). But on consulting an aalim, he has said that the name is a mismatch. I’m in a predicament, whether I can add Haji sahab’s name to the name Muhammad or not? Please guide me.

It is right to name a child as ?Muhammad Imdadullah?. ?Muhammad? is prefixed for barakah (blessing), it is not mismatch. As far as making intention of naming newborn baby with ?Muhammad? is concerned it is not proved by any Quran and Hadith, it might be experience of any pious person; therefore it is not a established reason.
