related to fatwa;12875 Assalamu alaikum! method of our nikah is as follows: my cousin called me in his mobile phone which has loudspeaker facility. so that all presented there can hear my voice clearly. i say salam and those three(my cousin and his two muslim friends )answered me .then my cousin asked me “i marry you.do you accept?” i answered “yes by all means”.this conversation is clearly heard and understood by them who were with my cousin . fatwa id is 12875 please send me as early as possible because every day i`m in distress abt this matter.

(Fatwa: 1454/1149=H/1430)
The Nikah did not take place by this conversation as per the Shariah. It is necessary that the meeting of offering of marriage and its acceptance are same, which is missing here. There are some other matters which are objectionable. Such a secret Nikah is against the will of Shariah. You are advised to marry openly with the mediation of your guardians.
