Is the Chinese calendar a viable option for choosing a baby’s gender?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
I have 2 daughters by name Haadiya Fathima and Hibba Fathima. Your kind intervention is requested regarding meaning and if any astrology related to these names. Further, as I have two daughters I would like to be a father of a son also. Kindly suggest any Islamic path to follow and try for a baby boy. Remaining Allah knows better. What is your opinion about Chinese calendar to choose a baby gender.

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

(Fatwa: 849/819/L=7/1438)

Haadiya means the one who guides, the one who brings people on the right path. Hiba means: gift and present. There is no harm in keeping the name Haadiya Fatimah. However, Hiba Fatimah name is not good as it carries the suspicion that Fatimah is the one who gifts and this belief is not right. Instead of Hiba, Rasheeda Fatimah or Rushda Fatima should be kept.

(2) For male child, one should supplicate Allah the Almighty, it is not correct to resort to Chinese Calendar for the same.
