After 35 yrs apart, is wife still in Nikah w/ husband & can she come for iddah after his death?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
Want to know according to Shariah Law that if a married couple separate due to a domestic quarrel and do not have a contact of any kind of contact or relationship, verbal and personal for 35 years. The wife left the husband’s house after the quarrel and goes to another city never to return or have any kind of contact thereafter. The question is now at this time whether the woman is in Nikah or not with her husband.
Now at the death of her husband, can she come for iddah to her late husband’s house or not after not being in any kind of relationship or any kind of contact with the husband for 35 years?

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

(Fatwa: 1475/1475/M=01/1436)

In the question mentioned above, if the husband did not divorce his wife then the woman shall remain in his nikah as usual though they have not had any contact for a long time. If the husband died it is necessary for the woman to return to the house of the husband for the iddah.
