Consumption Of Eggs With Blood Spots

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta Azaadville

Question:

Is the blood spot sometimes found in eggs permissible to consume?

Answer:

A blood spot in an egg is caused by a small rupture in a blood vessel of the hen as she was laying the egg. If the blood spot is on an isolated part/corner of the egg, making it possible to remove the blood spot without contaminating the rest of the egg, the blood spot should be removed and the rest of the egg will be permissible to consume.

However, if the blood is spread out to the extent that it has contaminated the whole egg, it will not be permissible to consume such an egg.
