Non Muslims who do Good

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by CouncilofUlama.co.za

Q: I offer discussions over BBM and get my subscribers to reply and discuss issues. The discussion below is one such discussion I would like to pose as there was a debate in the family and I disagree but I wish to understand this better A debate was held and I disagree but off course as I am not learned – I would rather ask you to assist me with this reply. My reasoning for you on this subject is I don’t just believe in being good to just Muslims but to all of mankind – anyone that is human is important and treated with respect. A person has said that only a Muslim will enter Jannat, no matter how bad he is and a non Muslim will not enter Jannat – no matter how good he is. I asked the question, that people like Mother Theresa, who gave up all worldly pleasures and assisted so many poor and needy, wont that person be given a last chance at the end and receive the Kalima even at the death bed. I stand to be corrected as I humbly say – I don’t know much. I was under the impression that all humans will be given 1 last chance for the Kalima to be sent to them even at the deathbed! Please explain to me if this is correct.

A: All non Muslims who do good in this world Allah Taala will reward them in this world already and there will be no share for them in the hereafter.
