Q: I obtain cash greater than the nisaab amount. I have 100 grams of silver. Do I have to pay zakaat on the silver or does it have to be more than 612.44 grams before zakaat is payable for it?
A: Join the value of the silver to your cash and pay Zakaat on the entire amount (cash and value of silver).
