Travelling with Parents and Iddat

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askmufti.co.za

Q: My daughter is in iddat. Can she go with us (mother and father) to Durban for a few days? We spend Eid at my brother’s house. Can she come with us she will be under our supervision and can we come home after esha?

A. She is not allowed to leave the Iddah home during her Iddah. If a woman observing Iddah is in real danger of losing life or limb, or suffers from overwhelming fear when alone, then she may leave her home and stay in a safer place. (Fataawa Hindiyyah V1 P535, Aljauharatun Nayyirah V4 P310).

For reasons other than this she is not allowed to leave the Iddah home.

Allah Ta’aala knows best.
