Are perfumes containing alcohol permissible?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

can i use the perfumes came from france or USA because of containing alcohol. I am from Hanafi Mazhab.

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

If the perfume contains alcohol derived from grapes or dates extract, it is impure. If it is from other sources besides grapes and dates, then it is pure.[1]

Generally the perfumes available nowadays contain synthetic alcohol, therefore pure. Such perfumes will be permissible to use.
