Barelwis praying behind Deobandis

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

The Deobandies have objected the barelvies for not reading salaah behind the haramain imaams.

On this scenario, the barelvies have gave an reply to deobandies.

Barelvy reply: we do not read salaah behind the haram imaams due to acting on Sunnate Sahabah, when the balwayees attacked Hzrat Usman (RA), someone came to Hazreat Ali (RA) and asked, should we read salaah in masjid nabvi while the imaam is one of the balwayees who attacked Hazrat Usman (RA), Hazrat Ali replied, the prophet (SAW) said, oh Ali, if you see one of the injustic as a imaam on my musallah, then read your salaah at home, and you’ll begiven the reward of salaah in masjid nabvi.

after the attack of hazrat Usman, the sahabah didn’t read salaah in masjid nabvi for 3 full days because of the imaam who was part of the balwayees.

The deobandies are kaafir, it is not permissible to read salaah behind them, we are acting on sunnate sahabah

“Thats the reply from baralvies.”

Our deobandi ulamaas have not replied to this, so i want to know what is the reply to  what barelvies have said?

As for the Hadith which you have mentioned, then the wording is as follows:

عن عبيد الله بن عدي بن خيار، أنه دخل على عثمان بن عفان رضي الله عنه، – وهو محصور – فقال: إنك إمام عامة، ونزل بك ما نرى، ويصلي لنا إمام فتنة، ونتحرج؟ فقال: «الصلاة أحسن ما يعمل الناس، فإذا أحسن الناس، فأحسن معهم، وإذا أساءوا فاجتنب إساءتهم»

صحيح البخاري (1/ 141)

Translation: Ubaydullah bin Adiyy narrates that I went to ‘Uthman bin Affan while he was besieged, and said to him, “You are the Imam of all Muslims and we see what has befallen you. We are led in the Salah by a leader of the fitnah and we are afraid of being sinful in following him.” ‘Uthman said. “Salah is the best of all deeds so when the people do good deeds do the same with them and when they do bad deeds, avoid those bad deeds. (Sahih Al Bukhari: 695)

Take note of the highlighted part of the Hadith. It is clear that the alleged response of the Barelwis is incorrect.

And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best
