THis is on behalf of a muslim woman.
She loves to observe very strict purdah to the extent that she doesn’t want to expose her voice infront of non mahram nor does she like to come infront of them.However her family doesn’t like that and ask her to give salaam to non mahram which as far as her knowledge is concerned is not jaiz in islam.But she gives salaam sometimes and it affects her so much that she doesn’t want to give salaam the next time.Everyone in her family acknowledges her as “extremist”.She is also studying in co-ed but she doesn’t want to and it seems that her result is poor there.For this her parents are very upset and sometimes even curses her.Her question is, “is there a level of purdah which is extreme in shariah and is her case applicable for that level?”
2.How can she protect her imaan while studying in co-ed?
please make dua for her so that she can please her creator as well as her parents.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
The conduct of the muslim sister in observing strict purdah and not exposing her voice in front of non-mahrams is correct.
Her discomfort in the co-ed environment is due to her shame and modesty. She should identify an influential person in the family to advise her parents to allow their daughter to freely and comfortably practice on the laws of hijab.[1]
