Assalaamu alaikum,

i hope this query finds Mufti Saheb in the best of conditions,

one would like to know what is mufti sahebs opinion on getting married while studying the “alim course” part time, if it is desireable or not and if it is better or not. if the student has strong desires which are worsened by his full time occupation but is able to exercise restraint of  the actual act of zina however the eyes sometimes are affected with this evil. and the mind on occasion overtaken with such thoughts. the student also regurlarly fasts on a monday and thursday.

Jazakallah Khayr

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Jazaakallah for your well wishes. May Allah keep you happy. Ameen.

Studying requires singular attention without distraction. That is not possible in a marriage life. The husband will have to pay attention to his wife. The ideal situation for studies is to be unmarried if one is able to exercise restraint.

In the enquired situation, the student should also control his eyes and thoughts to the best of his ability apart from fasting.

And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best
